Visclosky’s ethics case gets 2nd look
Reps. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., and Paul Hodes, D-N.H., asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to release the 200,000 pages of documents they turned over to the House ethics committee, which had released some but not all of those documents.

The OCE, a board made up of mainly former members of Congress that makes recommendations to the ethics committee for further review, was responding to a request by Reps. Jeff Flake (R-Ariz.) and Paul Hodes (D-N.H.) to release the 250,000 pages it submitted to the ethics committee when it concluded its inquiry. The two lawmakers are frustrated by the ethics panel's decision to clear members of wrongdoing without providing details of its probe, including how many witnesses were interviewed and subpoenaed.

The ethics office said the board made the referral after Reps. Jeff Flake, R-Ariz., and Paul Hodes, D-N.H., requested the office release the evidence it had collected in its PMA Group investigation.

Hodes' office announced yesterday that documents it had obtained showed Salem letter carriers' time sheets had been "manipulated" to remove overtime pay and earned wages.
"Cheating workers out of their pay is a very serious offense and threatens the livelihood of these hard-working New Hampshire families," Hodes said in a statement.
